Thank you for making the selfless decision to volunteer with the Louisiana Department of Corrections. The idea of volunteering in a prison may seem intimidating, but it can be a rewarding, life-changing experience for everyone involved. The Louisiana Department of Corrections recognizes the value volunteers bring to the lives of incarcerated individuals and the positive impact volunteers have on inmate success after reentering society.
Certification is required to apply for a volunteer position. To receive this certification you must complete all eight (8) lessons in this training course. Once completed you will be able to download your certificate of completion which will include a unique ID required to submit your application. Your certificate is valid one (1) year from the completion date. Once expired you must complete the training course again to continue volunteering.
