The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, through the Division of Probation and Parole, supervises approximately 2,200 sex offenders in communities across Louisiana. However, this is only a fraction of the individuals required to register and notify within the state.
The Office of State Police, Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information (the Bureau) is charged with maintaining a central registry of sex offenders and child predators. Information on the purpose and history of the program, registration and notification requirements, and an offender search can be found on the State Police website.
