Baton Rouge District is located at 2751 Wooddale Blvd, Suite 400, Baton Rouge, La.

Traveling on I–110, take Airline Highway (U. S. 61) north for approximately 4 miles. Take exit ramp west, to Florida Blvd. (U.S. 190). Turn right (north) at first traffic light onto Wooddale Blvd. and travel 1.7 miles. Turn left into the parking lot where the building is located on the corner of Wooddale Blvd. and Greenwell Springs Road.

Traveling from the north on Airline Highway (U.S. 61), take ramp, west, onto Greenwell Springs Road (SR-37) for .3 miles. Turn left (south) onto Wooddale Blvd for 131 yards. Turn right into the parking lot where the building is located on the corner of Wooddale Blvd. and Greenwell Springs Road.

Officers supervise approximately 5000 felony offenders placed on probation or parole supervision. Of these, approximately 200 are sex offenders.

Baton Rouge District is committed to providing the Baton Rouge area with a safer environment. In addition to standard supervision, our staff is also involved in special projects designed to enhance the supervision of offenders living in the parish. We work closely with the U.S. Marshal’s Office to locate violent and sex offenders who are wanted for violations, and we provide an officer to be a member of the East Baton Rouge Parish Violent Crime Unit. We actively and regularly participate in local multi-agency warrant initiatives. Special assignments include sex offender warrant roundups and curfew checks on Halloween night, neighborhood crime sweeps, working with the Human Trafficking Task Force, and working with the Baton Rouge Area Violence Elimination Team (BRAVE).

Baton Rouge District has dedicated officers assigned to work with the Nineteenth Judicial District Drug Court. These officers attend staff meetings at the Drug Court Treatment Center and Drug Court weekly. In addition, these officers assess potential participants of the Drug Court Program and make recommendations to the court as to which offenders should be admitted into the program. The sex offender cases in Baton Rouge District are supervised by a specialized sex offender unit. This unit utilizes GPS (Global Positioning System) technology to aid in the monitoring of some sex offenders. In conjunction with the Baton Rouge Area Violence Elimination Initiative, the Baton Rouge District Probation Office has a specialized unit to supervise those offenders.

In an attempt to reduce the recidivism rate, Baton Rouge District attempts to assist offenders in their areas of need, such as housing, employment, education, treatment, etc. Our staff contributes to a “closet” of clothing and personal items in order to meet emergency needs of our offenders. Our community resource coordinator meets regularly with resource providers and employers in securing services for offenders under our supervision. In addition, we continue to hold and attend focus group meetings with community resource agencies and faith based groups and assist with job fairs to help meet the needs of offenders on supervision. A bi-weekly sex offender treatment program is held at the Baton Rouge District Office.

Community involvement is a vital component of the every day workings of probation and parole. It is our goal to serve, protect, and give back to the community. Each Christmas, our staff makes a donation to a local nonprofit organization that has been instrumental in meeting the needs of the offenders under our supervision.

Baton Rouge District officers are also on emergency response teams that are on call for duty in the event of an emergency. These teams have worked tirelessly around the state in an effort to make our community safer by working in partnership with other law enforcement departments in evacuating prisoners, providing security, and assisting in locating prison escapees.

Baton Rouge District works closely with Southern University and Baton Rouge Community College in the placement of interns at the district office. We have enhanced the education of numerous students by providing them with hands-on experience.

Together with our community partners, we strive to increase compliance with conditions of supervision and to support reentry initiatives which will result in a reduced recidivism rate and a safer Louisiana.
