From Baton Rouge, cross the I-10 bridge and take Exit 153. bear right onto LA Hwy 1. After four miles turn left onto Northwest Drive. The building will located on the right.
WBRD and FED offices supervise approximately 2,240 probation and parole cases including over 100 sex offender cases. These offices also supervise and monitor three transitional work programs with a combined capacity of 500 inmates. The staff at these offices also conducts special investigations at Angola State Penitentiary, Elayn Hunt Correctional Center, Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women, Dixon Correctional Institute, Forensic Facility, East Louisiana State Hospital, Villa Hospital, and the War Veteran’s Home.
West Baton Rouge District provides supervision through two drug courts in the 18th Judicial District. The drug courts are located in Iberville and Pointe Coupee Parishes. The Iberville Parish Drug Court began operations in 2003, while Pointe Coupee Drug Court started in 2006. WBRD has an officer assigned to each drug court.
West Baton Rouge District supports Port City Enterprise which a non-profit organization providing assistance and activities for mentally handicapped adults. West Baton Rouge District host ice cream parties and holiday parties for the staff and clients at Port City Enterprises located in Port Allen, Louisiana.
West Baton Rouge District works with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to provide safe communities in our area. The district has an officer on the Middle District of Louisiana U.S. Marshals Sex Offender Locate and Arrest Team. We also assist local sheriff’s offices in conducting compliance checks on sex offenders. In addition, our office partners with local law enforcement in emergency situations to provide community policing as needed.
